Double Wall Sculpture (Dimensions – 23″ x 12″)

A musician sits in front of a beat up piano
and pounds out some notes. Another man picks up
an old dented horn and cuts loose. Maybe
they can’t even read music. Maybe
they don’t even know an allegro from a can of peas,
but they know all about fundamental rhythms,
they know all about how to liberate sounds
that come from deep in their souls like squeezing
toothpaste from a tube. They close their eyes
and let it happen. The jazz is freedom, it is elemental,
primordial. It’s all about taking what life gives you
and making the best of it. and God knows
they can improvise!
